Abstract
A layered protective garment endowed with bulletproof and knife-proof properties comprising a long shorts style garment that covers from waist to mid-calf level comprising at least three layers. One layer being of high tensile strength such as Twaron; the second being an air gap layer; the third being a layer of hexagonal Kevlar pieces.

Background to the Invention Gunshots and bullets are menace in present period, both in war and in peace times. The injuries can be from both blunt penetration and. kinetic energy impacted. on tissue. Kevlar is a well—known material with high tensile strength to stop bullets and reduce impact energy. '9 .9 W9 9,90 \ Curfent bulletproof garments only providewfiie complete layenfifif Kevlar meaning the garment is bulky and uncomfortable. The current invention is a garment produced using Kevlar but with hexagonal shapes of differing sizes closely applied together allow bending and twisting without loss of cohesion and thus can be used to allow a dungaree type fitted long shorts that is easy to wear and still retainability to protect from penetrating bullets.
Prior art The patent W02006/063785 discloses garment wherein the clothing is 'L and) mag" .an my composed of a several protective elements, i.e., vest, pant, pelvic protection, neck/nape protection hand and foot protection. Several groups of a plurality of layers of Kevlar® and boron carbide armor plates are utilized. This prior art does not allow versatile mobility and it is stiff. It does not solve the following technical problems which our application addresses: omobility and allows bending of garment Of$exibility fly ’Iv 6L @366 "$0 $0, ’ ‘bfl’ g \b(\ can extra layer of bullet proof' material of another type, Twaron, underneath solves the problem of blunt force trauma " lOStatemént of Inventlon T ’9 169 a w '59 €de Q" Q \ 0% db 9% x‘>\ \‘Q \b‘\ OIt is lightweight. It is also not heavy due to the way the Kevlar is sown in and the extra layer of another type of bullet proof cloth beneath it with an air space gap of less than a centimetre.
Heaviness is a serious problenl with. other Kevlar bullet. proof clothes, this is a technical problem our patent solves.

It is not too bulky due to the way it is constructed.
The abdominal wounds suffered at gunshots cause a lot of trauma and also at big blood vessels below waist. The Kevlar clothing can prevent such trauma properly and is still wearable easily.
