A multi layered press felt fabric(1)comprising woven first fabric machine side layer(3)with a cross machine pin seam(2)overlaid by second fabric(4)with a layer of needled batt(5)binding the layers together with flap(15)formed of a short length of the second layer and attached batt where the second layer formed by a number of narrow strips positioned with the lateral edge(4A)canted at a first cant angle(()of 1 to 20 degrees relative the machine direction(4B).
