Abstract

There is provided an amphibious vehicle (1) with a living compartment (4), preferably an amphibious caravan, which is towable by a land vehicle (2). The amphibious vehicle (1) comprises a compartment (3) that is capable to contain a land vehicle, preferably the land vehicle (2) towing the amphibious vehicle. It is also foreseen that the amphibious vehicle (1) comprises propelling means (10), and the propelling means (10) is driven by the engine of the towing vehicle (2).

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to an amphibious caravan that can be used on land and in water, and is capable of locomotion by propulsion and floating on land.

Today, more and more people are spending their holidays and long weekends on the waterfront and on the water. There are also groups of vehicles on the waterfront, consisting of a caravan or a trailer carrying a water craft. Rita, though, also sees an amphibious caravan rolling behind a passenger car.

The latter combination of vehicles allows free movement on land as well as on land. The disadvantage, however, is that the leisure waterway can only be planned with constraints, as the point of entry and exit must be the same.

A further disadvantage is that at this point of departure and arrival, the towing vehicle on the waterfront has to look for a well-guarded parking space where it can be safely secured on public holidays and at night. Car and sport equipment should be carried in the caravan, and the caravan should be as strong, economical, environmentally friendly and quiet as possible. This is also disadvantageous if you don't need a hauninder.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The object of the present invention is to provide a road and water craft that provides a family with a temporary dwelling both dry and on the water, while allowing for an informal choice of waterway and eliminating the aforementioned disadvantages.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to an amphibious caravan which can be towed by road in a land vehicle and used as a floating vehicle in the water and has an interior space adapted to accommodate a tow vehicle. Preferably, the propulsion engine for propelling the propulsion elements of the amphibious caravan is the power source of the towing vehicle.

It is also preferred that the upper portion of the amphibian caravan, which determines the height of the caravan, is of variable design.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The invention will now be described with reference to the drawings, in which Figure 1 is a side elevational view.

In front of the amphibious caravan 1, the towing vehicle 2 is shown in the position corresponding to the land transport, and in the interior of the amphibious caravan 1 the same towing vehicle 2 is shown in the position corresponding to the water transport. The front of the amphibious caravan 1 has a stable upper deck 4, where the equipment for the comfort of the caravan can be located.

- 3. The upper part 5 of the side walls and top of the side walls of an amphibious caravan has a variable design so that the height of the caravan can be reduced to the nose when towing by land. Accordingly, the upper portion 5, shown in dashed line in the figure, is not of reduced height, but is used for water and land-based camping.

The main dimensions of the amphibious caravan are defined from below by the size of the vehicle to be accommodated and from above by the requirements of road transport. It is recommended to have a width of 2.45 m, a length of 6 to 9 m, a height of 2.4 m at the front, 1.9 m at the back and a total height (including the upper part) of 3.6 m. Dive approx. 0.5 m. (Stability is enhanced by the bottom-loading car.)

The caravan preferably has four independent suspension wheels and an additional detachable wheel at the drawbar.

The towing vehicle rolls into the interior of the caravan boat folding tailgate. The complete unit can be rolled over to the water and landed on a sheltered shore or ramp with a reel.

The advantage of the amphibious caravan of the present invention is that the towing vehicle forms a vehicle unit that is easily adapted for both land and water transport (and stay) without sharing, allowing for free choice of route, while eliminating the need for equipment to change from road to water Moving.

Because the vehicle pool is driven by the power of the towing vehicle on the water, leaving the separate engine will save you money, and if the towing vehicle is up-to-date (economical and environmentally friendly), these good qualities will remain on the water.

An amphibious caravan according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the upper part (5) of the amphibious caravan (1), which defines the height dimension, has a variable configuration.
