Abstract
An overload protector includes at least one body (10) made of an electrically conductive elastomeric material, and two electrodes. The defining surface (10') of the elastomeric body is intended to lie against and be deformed against a surface on at least one other body (11, 12). A pressure device (14) is provided for exerting pressure onto the body (10). The pressure device is preferably resilient. In this way, the overload protector will pass from a low resistive state to a high resistive state very rapidly when overcurrents occur, whereafter the overload protector will return to its initial resistance and can be reused.
