  • Biological Treatment Of Waste Water (AREA)

Abstract

Effluent water is prepd., then cleaned biologically and provided with final treatment before storage. The sludge produced is also prepd. for further treatment. Typically, before mixing municipal and industrial waste waters, part of the sludge and of the suspended solids are removed and mixed with biologically cleaned sludge. The mixed effluent is mechanically and/or biologically cleaned and settled. The sludge resulting from the biological clean-up is analysed for heavy metals and stored separately in accordance with the level of contamination. - Appts. for treatment comprises an inlet channel, transfer equipment and distributor pipe. The distributor is routed to a sand trap and a biological oxidation block. The block is connected to sludge storage and cleaned-up water discharge channels typically, a sludge and suspended matter trap is located between the industrial waste inlet and the common inlet channel. The sludge channel is connected to the sludge discharge channels of the biological oxidation blocks. Pre-settling basins are located between the sand trap, the common clean effluent water channels and the discharge channel. The sludge storage is formed by several, independent, thickener basins
