Abstract
Prodn. of Ca phosphate of sufficient purity (below 1% organics/LO1) for glass mfr. is affected by calcining bone meal in the presence of an oxidation promoter (I), partic. 0.1-2 wt.% NH4NO3. The presence of (I) also reduces the calcination temp. by 6-10%.
