Abstract
The device comprises a vial (15), a nozzle (22), a drive assembly (11) and a cap (16). Rotation of the arming body (44) and the threaded plunger forces the nut (46) away from the vial against spring (47), applying pressure to the fluid in the vial by piston (18). Initial movement of the piston is prevented by the closed valve and incompressible fluid. The fluid is dispensed by the rotation and depression of the valve assembly causing it to open, the spring (47) driving the nut (46) and piston (18) towards the vial. Cylindrical extrusion (53) includes a dose counting ring and a female key (54) for engaging the male key (57) in the cap to allow rotation of the drive. Ramped surfaces between the housing (12) and the arming body are formed to generate a click on correct rotation of the arming body. The cap may be secured over the nozzle by a known child-proof device.
