Abstract

The system comprises at least two protective units, with inputs from sensors and some executive outputs to primary decision-making units. These operate the first line of shut-down units. Other executive outputs are connected to the second line of shut-down units. The data display and processing unit (120) comprises two processing and control sub-units (121,122). These are connected to sensors (111,112), monitoring the operating parameters of the nuclear power station. Sensors monitoring the same parameters are connected to signal processing and control units (121,122), which are cross-connected, without feedback. The initiating devices are physically segregated. Their interconnected cables are duplicated and routed along different paths.
