Abstract

The Tesla monitor has a surface attached on the surface of an instrument to be protected. The Tesla monitor has a multipolar system formed by continuous changing of North and South poles for detecting a magnetic field strength greater than 0.6 Tesla. The lines of force of a permanent magnet put onto the surface make permanent changes in the multipolar system of the Tesla monitor, and are detected by a Hall-effect sensor. An information surface provides a possibility to visualize detected information relating to the instrument to be protected. The Tesla monitor exploits the elasticity of the carrier material, and uses magnetic foil containing evenly distributed iron oxide particles to make a material sensitive to magnetic fields to keep a multipolar magnetic field with small spacing at a constant level. The usage of the magnetically stable material helps to detect and register the strength of the magnetic field intensity influencing the function of measuring instrument or changing its measured values while the material is shaped to the form of the measuring instrument or meters. The Hall-effect sensor is designed for detecting changes in lines of force of the permanent magnet without dismounting, such that the magnetic field can be detected only on a test bench.
