Abstract
Coextruded PVB foils are employed in laminated safety glass panel construction where the foils act as a bonding agent. The foils are seldom prepd. from pure PVB and frequently also contain poly-vinyl-alcohol, poly-vinyl-acetate, PVC, vinyl-chloride-vinyl-acetate-copolymer, plasticiser, UV-stabiliser and tack-lowering additives. Coextruded PVB foils comprise a number of layers, i.e.: surface bonding external layers and an inner layer. Outer layers contain PVB-resin, poly-vinyl-alcohol, UV stabiliser and tack-lowering agent. The inner layer comprises PVB, vinyl-chloride-vinyl-acetate copolymer, PVC, plasticiser, UV stabiliser and opt. colourants are also added.
