Abstract

A characteristic of this plant growing medium, that it also contains NPk fertiliser. The growing medium is based on 10-70 wt.% of such a river bed sediment, that has a 15-20 wt.% moisture content and a CO32>-> ion concn. corresponding to at least 20 wt.% CaCO3. Based on 100 wt.%, the medium also contains a max. of 20 pref. 1-4 wt.% organic matter, pref. humus; at least 8 wt.% Ca; a max of 1.5 wt.% pref. 0.4-0.6 wt.% Mg and a minimum of added 100 ppm microelements. 10-40 pts.wt. acid peat; 3-15 pts.wt. volcanic rock-dust; 3-25 pts.wt. zeolite contg. tuff and opt. 5-30 pts.wt. micaceous sand of medium particle size; 3-30 pts.wt. bentonite and 3-10 pts.wt. of NPk fertiliser. Taking the foregoing compsn. as 100%, it also contains 0.001-0.8 pts.wt. bacteria singly or in compsn., namely pref.: Bacillus megaterium and/or Azoto-bacter and/or Bacillus subtilis.
