A study was carried out in 48 patients affected by either non ulcer dyspepsia, biliary dyskinesis or irritable bowel syndrome. 24 Patients with unrestricted fat diet received only 150 mg ursodeoxycholic acid (group A) and 24 received only bioflavonoid (300 mg quercetin) (group B), for 3 months. After one month wash out, both groups received ursodeoxycholic acid + quercetin (group C) for 3 months. The overall (psychosomatic) condition and subjective symptoms were compared to the results of a control group. Gastrointestinal symptoms were evaluated using a grading system. The overall condition improved in 67 % of cases in group A, 45 % in group B and 89 % in group C. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
