Bitni tehnički problem smanjivanja težine i volumena košnica te jednostavnijeg rada i rukovanja, ostvaruje se uz istovremeno povećanje legla te poboljšanje iskoristivosti kompletne košnice. 1. Smanjenje okvira na standard "KOVAN" od 100 do 200 mm po visini i 400 do 450 mm po dužini, a optimalno je 151X400 mm, (slika 4) tako da se zadrže bioritmovi i da s njima mogu raditi nemoćnije osobe. Svi su okviri od 23 - 25 mm a ovi su okviri 27 mm, pa su tako bolje prilagođeni biologiji pčele. Okviri su izrađeni od profiliranih letvica, armirnih silkom za pecanje, što omogućava elastičnost, nema hrđanja, ima čvrstinu (ne isteže se). 1.
