Jednostupnjeviti postupak izdvajanja elementarne žive i živinih spojeva iz plinskog kondenzata derivata rafinerijske prerade nafte, naznačen time da se sastoji od propuštanja plinskog kondenzata ili derivata rafinerijske prerade nafte kroz filtracijski kolač, koji se priprema od dijatomejske zemljesastava: srednjeg promjera čestica 6,0-24 µm, 55-90 mas % SiO2, 3,5-8,0 mas % Al2O3, a ostatak čineoksidi do 3 mas % Fe, 0,5-6,5 mas % Ca, 0,1-1,0 mas % Mg, te ostali oksidi u tragovima prirodno prisutni u dijatomejskoj zemlji i plinskog kondenzataili derivata rafinerijske prerade nafte.
