Description

The subject invention relates to a pillow, especially for furnishing furniture elements.

Today, many pillows of different types and dimensions are in commercial use, which are used as elements or decorations of furniture parts such as sofas and armchairs.

In more detail, conventional pillows include a closed or reclosable cover, which contains a soft and absorbent material such as, for example, wool, cotton, polyester, goose down or foam materials (eg polyurethane).

Conventional pillows must be precisely designed and manufactured, in terms of shapes and materials, for each specific purpose and therefore cannot be used in a functionally and aesthetically appropriate way for different applications.

The aim of the present invention is therefore to solve the above-mentioned problem, eliminating the shortcomings of the current state of the art, by providing a pillow that can be used in such a way that its functionality is fully utilized and while changing specific purposes.

An important goal of this invention is to obtain a cushion that can be used efficiently with many different pieces of furniture and whose characteristics can be easily and quickly changed.

Another goal is to obtain a pillow that is structurally simple and has low production costs.

The aforementioned as well as other objectives of this invention, which will become clear from the description that follows, are achieved by a pillow, especially as a piece of furniture, which consists of a single body composed of two separate chambers placed one on top of the other, which have at least one opening that can be can optionally close again, the first elements for holding and/or connecting to the second pillow which are placed around the perimeter of the said body.

Further characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent from the detailed description of a particular embodiment which is illustrated by way of non-limiting example only in the accompanying drawings in which:

Figures 1 and 2 show the outline and side profile on the front face or to the side of the pillow according to this invention;

Figures 3 and 4 show the draft and side profile on the back face or to the other side of the pillow according to this invention;

Figure 5 is a cross-sectional enlarged side view of a detail of a pillow according to the present invention.

Referring to the above figures, the reference numeral 1 denotes a cushion, particularly for furnishing furniture, which includes a single body 2 consisting, in this embodiment, of a first central chamber designated by the reference numeral 3.

Said first chamber 3 is determined by the first layer and the second layer, marked with reference numbers 4a or 4b, which layers can be made of plastic and interconnected at the respective first edges 5a or 5b, for example, by electro-welding, thermal bonding, gluing or any other suitable method known to a person skilled in the art.

In this particular embodiment, the first chamber 3 is flat-shaped, in this embodiment square, with a side section (partially visible in Fig. 5) that is generally rectangular. Chamber 3 has a first face and a second face, marked with reference numbers 6a and 6b.

The second chamber 7a and the third chamber 7b are made immediately next to the first face 6a, so that they overlap with the first chamber 3, and they are placed next to each other, they are not connected and are separated from the first chamber 3.

Said second and third chambers 7a and 7b, preferably identical to each other, are formed by the first layer 4a and the third, respectively. the fourth layer, marked with reference numbers 8a and 8b, which layers are connected around the perimeter with the first layer 4a and preferably have a rectangular shape in order to almost completely cover the first face 6a.

On the second face 6b, in the opposite position in relation to the second and third chambers, there are, in the position in which they overlap the mentioned first chamber 3, the fourth chamber, the fifth chamber, the sixth chamber and the seventh chamber, marked with reference numbers 9a, 9b, 9c or . 9d, which are separated from each other and from the mentioned first chamber 3.

The fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh chambers, which are preferably identical to each other, are formed by the second layer 4b and the fifth, sixth, seventh, respectively. eighth layer, marked with reference numbers 10a, 10b, 10c or 10d, and are connected around the perimeter with the second layer 4b.

The fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth layers preferably have a quadrangular shape and thus cover almost the entire second face 6b.

Each of the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh chambers 9a, 9b, 9c and 9d has a corresponding opening designated by the reference number 11, which opening can optionally be closed again and is preferably made on the surface facing outwards and formed by the corresponding layer , made of plastic 10a, 10b, 10c or 10d.

The outer edge, marked with reference number 12, of the unitary body 2, which is made by joining the first edges 5a and 5b, has first holding and/or joining elements. These first connecting/holding elements consist of first openings, collectively indicated by reference numerals 13, for connecting to another similar pillow, so that the pillow is of modular design and can be stacked with other pillows to obtain the selected final shape.

Preferably, the second openings, marked with the reference number 14, are made on one side of the outer edge 12 and have a larger diameter than the first openings 13, for connecting the cushion l to the holder. There is also a notch 15, preferably rectangular in shape with rounded corners, which is used, for example, as a carrying handle.

The method of use is as follows: according to figure l, it should be noted that the different independent chambers can be filled with any gaseous, liquid or solid material, and they can also be used as pockets for carrying various objects that can be stored in them through openings 11.

The first openings 13 can be used to connect other pillows to one or several of the four sides of the pillow 1. The other pillows are structurally identical or similar to the subject pillow, so it can have completely different functions.

It was found, therefore, that the subject invention achieved the intended goal and purpose, a pillow was obtained that can be combined with different furniture elements and its special characteristics, such as softness, mass, dimensions and intended purpose, can also be easily and quickly modified.

The pillow in accordance with the subject invention enables numerous modifications and variations, within the scope of the attached patent claims.

The materials used, as well as the dimensions that make up the individual components of the invention, can of course be the most appropriate in accordance with specific requirements.

Claims (9)

1. A cushion, in particular for furnishing furniture elements, characterized in that it consists of a single body composed of two separate chambers placed one on top of the other having at least one optionally resealable opening, first holding/connecting elements for holding and /or connection to another pillow that is placed around the perimeter of the said body. 2. A pillow in accordance with Patent Claim 1, indicated by the fact that it has a first chamber formed by a first layer and a second layer made of plastic, wherein said layers are connected to each other by corresponding edges, where said first chamber has a flat shape with a rectangular side section , so that it forms a first face and a second face to which it is possible to connect one or more layers of material in such a way that they form one or more separate chambers. 3. A pillow according to Patent Claim 2, characterized in that the second and third chambers, which are placed next to each other, are not connected and are separated from the said first chamber and are placed in the position in which they are on the said first chamber. 4. A pillow in accordance with Patent Claim 3, characterized by the fact that the second and third chambers are identical and formed by the first layer and the third and fourth layers that are connected around the perimeter to the first layer, with the second and third chambers being rectangular shape, so that they almost completely cover the mentioned first face. 5. A pillow in accordance with Patent Claim 4, characterized in that on the said second face and in the opposite position in relation to the second and third chambers, it has a fourth chamber, a fifth chamber, a sixth chamber and a seventh chamber which are separated from each other and from the said first chamber . 6. A pillow in accordance with Patent Claim 5, characterized by the fact that the fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh chambers are identical and are formed by the second layer, and the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth layers, which are connected along the circumference with the second layer layer, whereby the said fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh chambers have a square shape so that they almost completely cover the said second face. 7. A pillow according to Patent Claim 6, characterized in that each of said fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh chambers has a corresponding opening that can optionally be closed again and which is formed on the outward facing surface of the corresponding layer. 8. A pillow in accordance with Patent Claim 2, characterized in that it has an outer edge made by connecting said first edges and which has first holding and/or connecting elements consisting of first openings for connecting to another similar pillow, so that the pillow is modular and can be combined with other cushions to achieve the chosen final shape. 9. A pillow in accordance with Patent Claim 8, characterized by the fact that on one side of the said outer edge there are other openings for connecting the said pillow to the holder, and a notch with rounded corners made for easier carrying of the said pillow in the hand.
