Abstract
The heated long jet, for an injection moulding appts., has a spiral groove around the outer mantle of the jet body to take the tube heater. The sections for different groove pitches match those of the heater. The jet body is divided into axial sections at least at the transfer points between the different pitches of the spiral with a tight fit on the inner carrier tube forming the inner cylindrical passage for the molten plastics. The jet body pref. slides over the inner carrier tube and the centre section of the housing is divided into at least two axial housing sections. The section of the spiral groove with the widely-displaced coils is replaced by a cylindrical section with a smooth outer surface with an outer dia. matching the core dia. of the replaced and grooved section. The heater is held against the jet body by a coaxial sleeve which applies radial pressure against the jet body.
