Abstract
The invention provides an image recognition device capable of improving accuracy of image recognition in detection of passengers on passenger delivery systems such escalator or moving sidewalk. The invention can represent and learn the structure and the movement of the dynamically moving background according to a gram matrix calculated from the spatial-temporal brightness gravity. Thereby, even if a brightness value similar to the background is inputted, the background and the foreground can be separated from the structural information. Moreover, even if the background is in the detection of the object in the dynamically changing scene, human or object can be detected because of the modulation of the background movement. Furthermore, accuracy of abnormal operation detection or operation type recognition can be improved by the detected human region. The model of the background is constructed as a mixed normal distribution model of the probability density of the components of the spatial characteristic vector of the gram matrix, and the existence of the foreground is determined when the spatial-temporal characteristic vector is not in normal distribution.
