Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a mobile terminal and system for displaying caller information and method thereof, and more particularly, to a mobile terminal and system for storing and displaying caller information, which is information like a picture, a graphic presentation (avatar) or a dynamic image of a caller, by using a caller-ID service (caller-ID service) and method thereof.
Background
In the following description, a mobile terminal of a calling party is simply referred to as a "calling terminal", and a mobile terminal of a called party is simply referred to as a "receiving terminal".
Fig. 1 is a flowchart illustrating a conventional caller information display method. Referring to fig. 1, the receiving terminal downloads caller information of a caller, such as a picture, a graphic expression, a moving image, etc., from a website or a personal computer, and stores the caller information corresponding to a phone number stored in a phone number table at step S101. The receiving terminal receives a call from the calling terminal at step S103, and displays calling information corresponding to the telephone number received by the caller identification service on the display screen at step S105.
The conventional caller information display method of fig. 1 has a problem in that a receiving terminal unilaterally sets caller information, and thus the caller information cannot be updated in time.
Fig. 2 is a flowchart illustrating another conventional caller information display method. Referring to fig. 2, a user stores his/her caller information in advance on a calling terminal or a server at step S201, the calling terminal initiates a call at step S203, and the calling terminal or the server checks whether a traffic channel is allocated between the calling terminal and a receiving terminal at step S205. When a traffic channel is established between the calling terminal and the receiving terminal, the calling information stored in the calling terminal or the server is transmitted to the receiving terminal at step S207. When the transmission of the calling information is completed, the receiving terminal rings a ring and displays the calling information on the display screen at step S209.
The calling information display method as shown in fig. 2 also has a problem in that ringing is not sounded until the receiving terminal completely receives the calling information although the call service is completed, and thus the actual call setup time is greatly increased, resulting in an increase in the burden on the communication system.

Detailed Description
Other objects and features of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description of the embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Fig. 3 shows a caller information display system according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. Referring to fig. 3, the caller information display system includes: a calling terminal 310, a service system 320 and a receiving terminal 330. In the caller information display system shown in fig. 3, caller information is transmitted from the calling terminal 310 to the receiving terminal 330 during a call.
The calling terminal 310 stores calling information such as a picture, a graphic representation, and a moving image of the calling party in a predetermined memory space thereof. The calling terminal 310 transmits a call initiation message and assigns a traffic channel. When the service connection is completed, the calling terminal 310 transmits preset calling information to the receiving terminal through a traffic channel during the call.
The service system 320 receives the call initiation message and sends a general call message (generic page message) to the receiving terminal 330. Upon receiving the call response message transmitted from the receiving terminal 330, the service system 320 establishes communication between the calling terminal 310 and the receiving terminal 330.
The receiving terminal 330 receives the general call information and transmits a call response message to which a traffic channel is to be allocated. When communication is established, the receiving terminal 330 receives the calling information from the calling terminal 310 through the service system 320 during a call. Preferably, the received caller information is automatically stored by associating the telephone number contained in the data with a telephone number stored in a telephone number table. When the calling terminal 310 initiates a call, the receiving terminal 330 displays the stored calling information on a display screen.
Fig. 4 is a flowchart of a method of displaying caller information in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention. Referring to fig. 4, a user, as a calling party, newly registers or updates calling information, such as some pictures, detailed graphic expressions, or dynamic images, and selects or designates a receiving terminal or a group of receiving terminals to receive the calling information in step 401. The operation of selecting or designating the receiving terminal may be performed during the call.
When the user as a calling party selects the receiving terminal 330 to establish a call (step S403), the calling terminal 310 determines whether or not the calling information needs to be registered or updated for the receiving terminal 330 in step S405, i.e., the calling terminal 310 checks whether or not the latest updated calling information has been transmitted to the selected receiving terminal 330 in step S405.
If the calling information needs to be registered or updated in the receiving terminal 330, when the service system 320 establishes communication between the calling terminal 310 and the receiving terminal 330 at step S407, the calling terminal 310 transmits the calling information to the receiving terminal 330 at step S409. The receiving terminal 330 receives data containing the caller information from the service system 320 through the forward traffic channel at step S411 and stores the caller information in correspondence with the telephone numbers listed in the telephone number table, thereby registering or updating the caller information at step S413.
Here, if the phone number of the calling terminal 310 is not in the number list stored in the phone number table of the receiving terminal 330, the phone number of the calling terminal 310 is temporarily stored in a predetermined memory space and enters a state of waiting for the registration of the calling information by the receiver, and then the calling information is registered by the receiving terminal. For example, a message requesting registration may be displayed on a display screen of the receiving terminal.
If the phone number of the calling terminal 310 is one stored in the phone number table of the receiving terminal 330, the caller information is internally stored in correspondence with the phone number of the calling terminal 310, and the originally set caller information is externally displayed on the display screen, thereby updating the caller information.
Here, if the caller information does not need to be registered or updated in the receiving terminal 330, when the receiving terminal 330 receives the call signal in step S417, the receiving terminal 330 displays the caller information corresponding to the phone number in the call signal before the call starts in step S419. Therefore, the user as the receiving side can easily identify the calling party.
As a modification of the calling information display system and method shown in fig. 3 and 4, calling information is previously stored in the service system 320 by a predetermined method (e.g., internet), a receiving terminal is designated, and then when communication is established between the calling terminal 310 and the receiving terminal 330, the calling information is transmitted to the receiving terminal 330 and stored in correspondence with a telephone number stored in a telephone number table.
Fig. 5 is a diagram of a caller information display system in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention. Referring to fig. 5, the calling information display system includes a calling terminal 510, a service system 520, and a receiving terminal 530. When the receiving terminal 530 is in a state capable of receiving the caller information, such as in-call or idle state, the caller information is transmitted to the receiving terminal 530.
The calling terminal 510 serves to transmit a data packet containing calling information such as a picture, a detailed graphic expression, and a moving image of the calling party and a telephone number of the designated receiving terminal 530 to the server 520.
The service system 520 temporarily stores the data packet and transmits the calling information to the designated receiving terminal 530 when the designated receiving terminal 530 is in a state capable of receiving the calling information.
Receiving terminal 530 receives the caller information from service system 520 and stores the caller information in association with the telephone numbers stored in the telephone number table.
Fig. 6 is a flowchart of a method of displaying caller information in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention. Referring to fig. 6, a user as a calling party registers or updates calling information such as pictures, detailed graphic expressions, moving images, and the like at step S601. In step 603, a receiving terminal 530 or a group of receiving terminals 530 is designated. The calling terminal 510 transmits calling information and a telephone number designating the receiving terminal 530 to the service system 520, preferably in the form of a data packet, at step S605.
The service system 520 temporarily stores the data packet received from the calling terminal 510, and transmits calling information to the designated receiving terminal 530 together with the telephone number of the calling party when the designated receiving terminal 530 is in a state capable of receiving the calling information at step S607. In step S609, the receiving terminal 530 stores the caller information in correspondence with the caller numbers listed in the telephone number table, thereby registering or updating the caller information. Then, when the receiving terminal 530 receives the call signal, steps S415 to S419 in fig. 4 are performed.
Fig. 7 is a diagram of a caller information display system in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention. Referring to fig. 7, the calling information display system includes a calling terminal 710, a service system 720, and a receiving terminal 730. In the caller information display system shown in fig. 7, caller information is transmitted to the receiving terminal 730 when the receiving terminal is in a state capable of receiving caller information, such as during a call or in an idle state.
The user who is the caller registers or updates the caller information in the service system 720 while designating the receiving terminal 730, such as through the wireless internet or a personal computer. The service system 720 stores calling information such as a picture, a detailed graphic expression, or a moving image, and transmits the calling information to the designated receiving terminal 730 together with the telephone number of the calling party when the designated receiving terminal 730 is in a state capable of receiving the calling information. Receiving terminal 730 receives the caller information from service system 720 and stores the caller information in correspondence with the caller's telephone number stored in the telephone number table.
Fig. 8 is a flowchart of a method of displaying caller information in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention. Referring to fig. 8, a user who is a caller registers or updates caller information in the service system 720 at step S801, and a receiving terminal 730 or a group of receiving terminals 730 is selected or designated at step S803. When the designated receiving terminal 730 is available, the service system 720 transmits data including the caller information and the caller' S phone number to the designated receiving terminal 730 at step S805. In step 807, the receiving terminal 730 receives and stores the caller information corresponding to the caller's telephone number stored in the telephone number table, thereby registering or updating the caller information. Then, when the receiving terminal 730 receives a call signal, steps S415 to S419 in fig. 4 are performed.
As described above, the mobile terminal, system and method with caller information display function according to the present invention are convenient for users to use and reduce the system burden and the actual call setup time.
