Abstract
Electrochemical sec. cell comprises a cathode (I) including a metal oxide (II), an anode (III) and an electrolyte soln. (IV), which polymerises rapidly at temps. above 100 deg.C or at voltage greater than the operating voltage of the cell, causing an increase in the internal resistivity of the cell. (IV) is also claimed as is the prodn. of (I) and a method of enhancing the operational life of a sec. cell.
