Method for producing white asparaguses. It consists in covering the plants with artificial or natural soil-coverings which are similar in shape to the ordinary ones and contain -instead of soil- turf, perlite, sawdust etc. The said soil-coverings bear openings designed for the gathering of sprouts and can be made from plastic of all kinds, wood, paper, painted or unpainted glass, or from metal in any shape and size; it could also be whatever transparent material which has the properties and the efficiency of a dark material. Gathering is normally carried out in spring time or in any other season of the year, if this is regulated by artificial means.
