Abstract

Sensor vectors are described, which are based on the magnetic contraction delay line, where the sensing function is based on modification of the magnetic circuit along the length of the magnetic contraction delay line. The proposed sensor vector can supply quantitative signal measurements rather than the qualitative sensor measurements of previous technologies. Furthermore, the proposed distributed sensors display advanced characteristics such as magneto-antistatic elements and alternatively, a receiving magneto-contraction delay line with two reception coils at the ends, used as the sensor vector outlet, as well as a measured time period outlet instead of its size, thus offering improved responsiveness with the proposed distributed sensors. The above mentioned improvements are used in many applications and are especially recommended as new digitisers and magnetic field distribution sensors.
