Abstract

The production of a screen printing block with a pattern carrier with fixable pattern material on it, in which (a) a barrier layer of non-transparent water-soluble thermowax (I) is applied with a jet printer to those parts of the pattern material which are not be fixed, (b) the material without the barrier coating is fixed and (c) the barrier-coated material is removed. Also claimed is an apparatus for this process, comprising a jet printer with a receptacle for a screen printing block, a container for thermowax (I) and a heater to liquefy (I).
