Abstract

Novelty: a control system for the orientation of the fuselage of an horizontal-type wind generator to the wind direction is disclosed. The control system determines the fuselage position when the velocity of the wind ranges between the velocity at which the electric power is produced at the power network by the wind generator and the velocity at which the wind generator commences producing nominal power. For the aforementioned range of wind velocities, the determination of the fuselage position is based on the measurement of the wind velocity, the measurement of the wind direction not being necessary. The invention is independent from the type of the wind generator and the control method thereof in use as well as from the connection or not of the wind generator to the power mains; namely, it can be equally adapted to both types of wind generators (interconnected or autonomous wind generators).
