Abstract

Novelty: 2-axis GTR regards the construction of a dual-axis sun tracker namely a metal construction able to support photovoltaic panels and rotate around the horizontal and perpendicular axis according to the solar radiation. Installation mode: first, six underground columns 1 fixed at the periphery of the crown 9 the smooth rolling of which is ensured by freely moving rowls 4 set at he top of the columns while a chain-and-motor system 11 running the periphery of the crown is fixed on the ground to assist the rotation of this last. The precise rotation about the vertical axis is responsible for the azimuth sequence production. In the sequel, six columns 12 -along with three additional columns set at the centre of the crown onto a steel hollow section- should be fixed at the upper surface of the crown’s periphery so that an arrangement of three three-column rows 12 can be created. On the columns 12 there are adapted dividable bearings 13 for the placement of three rows of frameworks 14 meant to support, with the assistance of the purlin 19, the photovoltaic panels 21. The driving force inciting the rotation of the frameworks is obtained by a system of gear rack-and-motor system 18.The precise rotation is responsible for the zenith sequence production.
