Abstract
Η αναερόβια ξηρή μέθοδος επεξεργασίας είναι δυνατό να εφαρμοστεί για την παραγωγή βιοαερίου και την σταθεροποίηση βιοαποδομήσιμων οργανικών στερεών. Η μέθοδος χρησιμοποιεί κλειστούς αναερόβιους αντιδραστήρες διαλείπουσας λειτουργίας (batch reactors), δεξαμενή αποθήκευσης του νερού διεργασίας, φρεάτιο συλλογής νερού διεργασίας και συμβατικό ηλεκτρομηχανολογικό εξοπλισμό για την σταθεροποίηση των οργανικών στερεών και την παραγωγή βιοαερίου. Η καινοτομία της μεθόδου έγκειται στη σειραϊκή εφαρμογή επιμέρους διεργασιών (φάσεων) για τα στάδια φόρτωσης, προαερισμού, διαβροχής, αποστράγγισης και μεταερισμού, χωρίς τη χρήση υδάτινων πόρων ή μηχανικών μέσων ανάδευσης. Για να είναι εφικτή η περαιτέρω αξιοποίηση του βιοαερίου, για παράδειγμα σε αεριομηχανές (μηχανές εσωτερικής καύσης) για παραγωγή ηλεκτρικής ενέργειας, είναι απαραίτητη η παράλληλη λειτουργία τουλάχιστον τεσσάρων βιοαντιδραστήρων που όμως λειτουργούν με διαφορά φάσεως ώστε να ελαχιστοποιούνται οι αυξομειώσεις της παραγωγής του βιοαερίου.
