Abstract
The present invention relates to a device for drying and chemical decomposition of materials in a special slurry form consisting of a mixture of organic and inorganic solids (preferably in fine particle form) and water, designated as hydrated carbonaceous condensates (HCCs). It consists of a drying chamber (10) in which the HCCs are dehydrated and a gasifier (1) for the production of poor gas, by passing over-heated vapours through glowing coal. The drying device and the gasifier are arranged so that thermal loads are transferred to each other. The gasifier (1) comprises a refractory fire box (3) in its interior, an inlet pipe (5) and an outlet pipe (55). In the fire box (3) of the gasifier, a coal mass (4) is introduced which is ignited by a current of air and water vapour, which is introduced in the fire box (3) of the gasifier (1) through the inlet pipe (5). The produced poor gas, being at high temperature due to its formation conditions, flows out of the gasifier (1) through the outlet pipe (55), having in the meantime provided a part of its thermal load to the drying chamber (10), from where the thermal load is transferred to the HCCs to be dehydrated.
