Abstract

The invention relates to steel fiber reinforced concrete mantles exhibiting high compressive resistance of the range of 70 Mpa and stable volume (with no drying contractions). Said mantles are destined for the antiseismic reinforcement of buildings constructed with reinforced concrete or otherwise and they contain shaped steel fibers (content expressed by volume percent) anchorable to the body of the concrete. Compared to conventional reinforced concrete mantles, the novel mantles are characterised by simplicity in adaptation and significant low cost of the range of 60%. No conventional steel contained in ordinary concrete mantles (joints, longitudinal reinforcements) is needed for the application of the presented herein mantles. The steelfiber reinforced concrete resulted from the mixing by volume of shaped steel fibers anchorable to the body of the concrete is applicable either by the casting or by the blasting method.
