Abstract

Ο Διαθλαστικός Ενδοφακός ιριδικής στήριξης "Gregory Lens" αποτελείται από δύο διαφορετικά μέρη (1) - στεφάνη στήριξης - και (2) - οπτικό σώμα - τα οποία μπορεί να κατασκευαστούν είτε από άκαμπτα είτε εύκαμπτα υλικά. Ο φακός αυτός είναι σχεδιασμένος για να προσφέρει απαράμιλλη ποιότητα όρασης σε ασθενείς με σύνθετα διαθλαστικά προβλήματα, όπως ανώμαλο αστιγματισμό, μεταμοσχευμένα μάτια, τραυματισμένα μάτια και κερατόκωνο. Το πλεονέκτημα αυτής της εφεύρεσης είναι ότι μπορεί να προσφέρει απίστευτη ακρίβεια στην ορθή τοποθέτηση του οπτικού τμήματος του φακού σε σχέση με την κόρη εισόδου της τάξης μερικών μικρομέτρων, έτσι ώστε να επιτρέψει την εφαρμογή της τεχνολογίας της εκτροπομετρίας στους ενδοφακούς ιριδικής στήριξης.
