Abstract

The invention relates to the technical field of chemical batch delintering of cottonseed for seeding by using a dilute aqueous solution of sulfuric acid. The present method and the respective apparatus address the requirement for minimizing the stress on the seeds and the requirement for prevention of mixing/contamination of each batch with seeds of other batches, during delintered-seed production, on one hand by applying centrifugation-thermomechanical drying with the use of respective devices, which support the discontinuous supply of seeds and ensure inherently a full removal of the seeds after completion of the processing, and on the other hand by continuous controlling all the parameters determining the delintered seed production procedure, depending on the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of each individual batch. Finally, all the processing parameters are recorded for evaluation and optimization of the said procedure. The present method and the respective apparatus are employed in batch delintering of cottonseed for seeding, the batches having the same or different qualitative or quantitative characteristics.
