Abstract
The dry anaerobic treatment method may be applied for the production of biogas and for the stabilization of biodegradable organic solids. The method uses closed anaerobic batch reactors, a process water storage tank, a process water collection basin, and conventional electromechanical equipment for the stabilization of the organic solids and the biogas production. The novelty of the method lies in the serial application of individual processes (stages) for the stages of loading, pre-aeration, rinsing, drainage and post-aeration, without using water resources or mechanical stirring means. For the further exploitation of the biogas, e.g. in gas-engines (internal combustion engines) for electricity production, the parallel operation of at least four bioreactors is required, wherein the bioreactors operate under phase difference so that variations in the biogas production are minimized.
