Abstract

A new, simple recycling method of alkaline waste from the washing-purification of matrices of the aluminum extrusion industries and with a simple necessary additional equipment. The method uses the same boiler-reactor of washing with a suitable adjustment of a control device for the level of water, temperature and density of the solution. From these easily and constantly measured values the content of the solution in caustic sodium and alumina arises that is dissolved constantly in the thermal caustic sodium, producing soluble sodium aluminate through a pre-drawn type of correlation of parameters. When the solution reaches to a specific limit from which the continuation of washing is not of useful in terms of time - a point which is detected easily and accurately by the assistance of a measurement device – resulting in the optimum exploitation of sodium as well as the avoidance of saturation with a subsequent problems, abundant aluminum is added by the use of exactly the same equipment until the desired content of sodium aluminate is achieved in sodium and alumina. The product is pumped in a simple settlement-storage tank from where the finished product of sodium aluminate comes out clear with the desired specifications and of high additional value. The method, on the one hand, renders profitable a neutralization and management process of a difficult waste that, on the other, may constitute the main source of strong alkaline current of waste, whereas at the same time it does not require any serious or costly addition of equipment in the already existing equipment. The produced sodium alkaline is of acceptable content and purity, suitable for all uses (such as: accelerator of cement coagulation, water and waste processing means, additive of paper industry etc.).
