Abstract

This invention relates to an access router in wireless networks 802.11 consisting of a PC equipped with a wired network card and a wireless network card and which has the ability to offer service differentiation in each wireless computer associated with it. The router is based on a CBWFQ mechanism that can adjust its settings with regard to the weight of its classes periodically, according to a mechanism that reallocates the network resources in order to achieve their fair dissemination and a mechanism estimating periodically the channel state for each node in order to improve the total network performance. There are two queues used for each wireless node, one for the data packets and one for the acknowledgments packets.
