Abstract

The present invention refers to the development of a novel, trityl-type divinyl-benzol- polystyrene copolymer resin, which bears a trifluoromethyl-group at a suitable position of the trityl-ring system. The new resin is of low cost, has excellent swelling properties in most of the solvents used in peptide (in general, in organic) synthesis and can be applied as a functionalized solid matrix to the solid phase peptide synthesis (in general, to the solid phase organic synthesis). The present invention refers also to the method of making the novel resin as well as in its use for the production of polypeptides.
