Abstract

Προτείνεται η σύνθεση ζεολίθου Υ από ηφαιστειακά υαλώδη πετρώματα και πυριτικά καλύμματα. Η μέθοδοςπεριλαμβάνει τον αποχωρισμό αμόρφου διοξειδίου του πυριτίου από τα πετρώματα και την παρασκευή πηκτώματος (γέλης) με προσθήκη αργιλικού νατρίου. Μετάαπό ωρίμανση του πηκτώματος και επακόλουθη θέρμανση για χρονικό διάστημα 3-120 ώρες προκύπτουν τελικά προϊόντα πλούσια σε ζεόλιθο Υ σε ποσοστό μεγαλύτερο από 95 τοις εκατό. Ο ζεόλιθος Υ χρησιμοποιείται κυρίως στην κατάλυση υδρογονανθράκων λόγω του υψηλού μικροπορώδους του και κατά δεύτερο λόγο σε περιβαλλοντικές εφαρμογές.
