Abstract
e invention relates to an electronic health booklet having the form of an electronic card, which is smaller than an ordinary credit card, and able to supply information about the medical history and the health insurance of the owner. A software gives the possibility to the insurance service and contracting physicians or hospitals to read and enter data either locally (on the computer) or through Internet so that the presentation of the health booklet or of the physician's payment receipt by the patient to the insurance offices is abolished. The health booklet will contain the identification data, the personal medical information (blood group, allergies etc), the insurance data (covering conditions, authentication etc), and the complete medical history of the patient; there is also the possibility of storing on same card texts, pictures and electronic data issued from medical devices.
