Abstract

Circumferential malformed compression ring for sealing plastic closures which compresses when the closure is screwed onto the neck of the bottle or vase. This compression creates a malformation which causes complete contact between the interior of the closure and the neck of the container. Thus, sealing is achieved without the necessity to use additional means. This invention avoids the use of additional materials to achieve sealing between the closure and the container and therefore reduces packaging cost without the disadvantages of other similar methods being used today. The applications of this invention are multiple, such as in plastic containers that contain dairy products, juices, beverages, beer, etc.
