Abstract

his invention concerns the method of production and the application of new water soluble polymer agents (complexes) of sorbic acid, Nystatine and amphotericine B. The composition of the above products is effected by their reaction with polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) of different molecular weights. The complexes of sorbic acid have the following chemical structure:[*]Complexes of nystatine, amphotericine B and azoles with PVP have the same chemical structure. The antimycosis activity of the complexes produced was certified in-vitro to potentially pathogenic (Fusarium oxysporum) as well as pathogenic for humans and animals nycetes (Aspergillus parasiticus, Penicillium viridicatum, Candida tropicalis and Candida albicans). It was observed that the biological activity is a function of their molecular weight and that activity increased as the molecular weight was reduced. Water solubility, biocompatibility and proven better biological activity relatively to the micromolecular substances are among the principal features of the polymer medicines.
