Mέθοδος παραγωγής μη-ιοντικών (υδρόφοβων) και ιοντικών (υδρόφιλων) πλεγματικών πολυμερών με διασταύρωση γραμμικών ή διακλαδωμένων πολυμερών που έχουν στο μόριό τους αρωματικούς δακτυλίους (π.χ. πολυστυρένιο) με διάφορες τεχνικές και με ένα κατάλληλο διδραστικό μέσο διασταύρωσης και κατά προτίμηση με φορμαλδεϋδη στη μορφή μονομερούς, τριοξάνης, τετροξάνης ή παραφορμαλδεϋδης, ή ακόμα με διάλυμα τριοξειδίου του θείου (π.χ. θειϊκό οξύ ή ατμίζον θειϊκό οξύ). Η αντίδραση διεξάγεται παρουσία ή απουσία ενός κατάλληλου καταλύτη (ισχυρό πρωτονικό οξύ ή οξύ κατά LEWIS) ή ενός αδρανούς διαλύτη του πολυμερούς ή ενός μέσου αιώρησης αδρανούς (π.χ. παραφινέλαιο) ή δραστικού (π.χ. θειϊκό οξύ). Hydrophobic crosslinked polymers produced according to this method and used as adsorbents to collect organic solvent spills with solvent recovery. Hydrophilic crosslinked polymers produced according to this method and used as adsorbents for water or aqueous solutions and mainly as soil conditioners with the aim of saving water and labor on an agricultural holding and increasing soil fertility and agricultural production (soil conditioners). oh
