Essence A system comprises a pressurization cylinder with a piston, a handle 40 coupled to the piston and movable between an extended position and a home position, an aerosolizing mechanism 16, which is configured to aerosolize a powdered medicament that is held within a receptacle 22, a carriage assembly to receive the receptacle 22 and to couple the receptacle to the aerosolizing mechanism. The system is also provided with a first and a second interlock; the first interlock is released to allow movement of the carriage upon movement of the handle to the extended position, and the second interlock remains engaged if the receptacle is only partially inserted into the carriage assembly. 3.
