Abstract

997,459. Brushes, operated in conjunction with clutches. S. A. RICHIER. July 15, 1963 [July 18, 1962], No. 27963/63. Headings F2E and F2F. A vehicle has an engine driving, through a clutch, a pump discharging into an hydraulic circuit including a throttle valve actuated by the clutch control, the pump being mounted on the input shaft of the change-speed gear-box and effecting, when the operator actuates the clutch, braking of the input shaft when the gear lever is moved into neutral position, to facilitate the gear changing. The shaft 4 driven by an engine 1 through a clutch 2 is connected to a pump 5a drawing fluid from a reservoir 10 and circulating through a system including valves 15 and 7. The latter valve is operated by the clutch control 8 as the clutch is disengaged to throttle the flow and brake the shaft 4. When the vehicle is being towed the valve 15 may be rotated to direct the delivery of pump 5a to the distributer 9, normally supplied from pump 12, to permit the operation of mechanism supplied therefrom.
