Abstract
997,440. Adjusting radio tuning. BLAUPUNKT-WERKE G.m.b.H. May 30, 1962 [June 29, 1961], No. 20724/62. Heading H3Q. In a push-button tuner comprising a number of slide members 4, Figs. 1, 2, each of which carries a stop member 6 which is engageable with a rocker arm 3 for turning the tuning element to a predetermined position, and which is adjustable to change the predetermined position; and a rotary tuning control operable manually through a reduction gear 24, 25, Fig. 3, and a clutch 23 which may be disengaged when a slide member is depressed; provision is made for rendering the clutch disengaging arrangement inoperable during adjustment of the member 6 to change the predetermined position. When slide member 4 is depressed the rocker 3 is rotated to a predetermined position where the two edges 5, 7 of the stop 6 engages with the rods 1, 2. The stop 6 is pressed against the member 4 by a lever 8 pivoted on a rivet 9. To alter the predetermined position the rocker 3 is adjusted to the required position by the rotary tuning control, Fig. 3, and a button 10 on slide 4 is pulled out slightly moving lever 8 to unlock stop 6. If the slide 4 is subsequently pushed in the stop 6 takes up a position corresponding to the rocker 3 to prevent the slide being further depressed, and an increase in pressure on button 10 moves lever 8 to relock the stop 6. In use, when the tuning element is set by depressing a slide, a stop 14 engages with a tongue 15 to rotate member 16 and disengage the clutch 23 so that the rotating control is normally inoperative when a slide is depressed. In order to render the clutch release inoperative when altering the predetermined position of stop 6, pulling the button 10 is arranged to also move stop 14 so that it cannot engage with tongue 15, and movement of the rocker arm 3 is therefore prevented by the worm drive gearing 24, 25.
