994,085. Ultrasonic treatment. UNITED BRISTOL HOSPITALS. June 24, 1963 [July 24, 1962], No. 28409/62. Heading A5K. A mounting for an ultrasonic transducer, for use in ultrasonic therapy, comprises a hollow holder 14 having an inwardly directed flange 16 at its base. The transducer 10 is held against this flange by resilient means, such as a flat ring 20, and this is located by a sleeve 18 which may be either pressed or screwed into the holder 14. To assist in accurately locating the transducer, so that its outer face is flush with the base of the instrument, the inner face of the flange 16 is made conical, to mate with the chamfered edge 12 of the transducer 10.
