Abstract
993,652. Filter presses. SEITZ-WERKE G.m.b.H. Nov. 11, 1963 [Feb. 21, 1963], No. 44430/63. Heading B1D. A mobile filter press comprising a fixed end plate 10 and a bearing body 14, carrying a contact pressure member 13, connected by support bars 11 which carry movable plate 12, is supported by three rollersor castors. Thus there is room below the press filter plates for a filtrate receiver. Filter plates 17 have lugs 18 which engage bars 11 to hold them in place, Fig. 6. Body 14 is generally T-shaped. Other embodiments, Figs. 1-3, 7-9 (not shown), have other relative positions of bars 11 and employ square or rectangular filter plates. Body 14 may have two rollers and plate 10 only one. End plate 10 accommodates inlet and outlet valves for liquid to be filtered, and the vertical limb of body 14 may accommodate hydraulic means to actuate the pressure member 13, in a large press where a screw (as shown) is not adequate.
