Abstract

A composition comprises (a) a polyoxymethylene including a homopolymer of trioxane which may be acylated or alkylated having a molecular weight of at least 10,000 or a copolymer of molecular weight at least 10,000 of trioxane and 1,3-dioxolane, 1,3-oxothiolane, ethylene oxide or a derivative thereof, styrene, a vinyl ether or acrylonitrile, and (b) an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, araliphatic or aromatic mono- or poly-carbodiimide. Additionally the composition may comprise a polyamide such as polyhexamethylene adipamide or the N-methylolmethyl ether of poly-e -caprolactam, a polyurethane such as the reaction product of hexamethylene diisocyanate and butane-1,4-diol or thiuram sulphides such as tetramethyl thiuram disulphide and bis(N-methyl-N-phenyl)thiuram disulphide.
