Abstract

<PICT:0992836/C3/1> The surface of a bath containing a latex is continuously renewed by process which comprises continuously metering in the latex through a surge and settling chamber "A" and then in continuous non-turbulent planar flow into the bottom-most portion of the bath at a rate in excess of that at which the latex is removed from the bath by the fabricating technique employed. In the preferred embodiment of the bath the latex flows over weir 25 under baffle 26 into the bath 20 then the excess flows over weir 27-preferably of the same height as weir 25-into outlet 24 preparatory to being mixed with fresh latex and recycled.
