Abstract

991,845. Test tube rack. LKB-PRODUKTER A.B. Sept. 6, 1963 [Sept. 12, 1962], No. 35378/63. Heading B1X. A test tube rack comprises two portions 1, 2, each adapted to receive a plurality of test tubes and a hinge 3 connecting said portions so as to allow them to make an angle with each other. As shown in the Figure, to which the numerals in brackets refer, the test tubes are contained in holes 8 of square cross-section, each of which contains a resilient wire of generally U-shape having a straight limb 6 and a bent limb 7 fitting in opposite corners thereof and enabling the rack to be inverted without the test tubes falling out. The entire rack may if desired be fabricated as an integral body from a plastics material, e.g. polyethylene: the resilient wires are then replaced by thin wings or films and the hinge is a thin bendable wall.
