Abstract

[Also in Division B8] A conveyer belt comprises a reinforcement 24 of twilled fabric and a layer of transversely disposed cables 23 on the side of the reinforcement 24 remote from the load-carrying surface 21 of the belt. There may be a layer of cables 23 on the load carrying side of the belt as well (Fig. 3, not shown). The bent portion 22 of the cables 23 may be dispensed with (Fig. 1, not shown). The twilled fabric may be selected or treated so that the weft has high compression resistance e.g. by nature, size or arrangement of threads or by rubber milling or stiffening. The belt is vulcanized in the usual way.
