Abstract
990,210. Flexible conduits; supporting conduits. CANNON ELECTRIC (GREAT BRITAIN) Ltd., D. J. BLIGHT, and J. M. SHAFE. March 16, 1964 [Dec. 14, 1962], No. 47249/62. Heading F2P. The combination with a hollow flexible conduit 11 of a holding means comprising a pair of engagement members 18, 19 which are spaced apart from each other lengthwise of the conduit and which are interconnected by a fixed-length, flexible, non- resilient coupling, the arrangement being such that, when the conduit is unflexed, the portion of the length of the conduit adjacent at least one of the engagement members can move axially relative to that engagement member and that, when the conduit is flexed, both of the engagement members engage the conduit and the coupling is flexed to hold the conduit in its flexed position. As shown, the holding means comprises metal rings 18, 19 slidable on the conduit 11 and connected by an integral metal strip 21; one of the rings may be in the form of a releasable clip. In a modification the device may be disposed within the conduit and comprises a metal strip 21 riveted to rings of a plastic, or, the strip may be replaced by wire.
