[Also in Division H1] A pulse producer for electrified fences has a transformer whose secondary winding 2 is connected with one terminal 22 to earth, and the other terminal 21 to the fence, and whose primary winding 1 attracts armature 4 which is resiliently biased by spring 5 arranged to push rod 7 and so operate a micro-switch (shown for clarity as a leaf spring 14) which breaks the connection between the primary winding 1 and the battery 18 whereupon the armature 4 is returned to its initial position by spring 5. The rod 7 also drives piston 8 into cylinder 9 against spring 10. When the armature returns, the piston 5 also returns to its former position, turning on the switch 17, in a time determined by the air inlet throttle 13. The pulse producer, being cheap, may be combined with a dry battery and the whole assembly thrown away when the battery is exhausted, or fitted on to a housing with the battery and a pilot light.
