Abstract

987,736. Skates. SEKUR-ALL CORPORATION. March 12, 1963 [March 12, 1962; Jan. 2, 1963], No. 9663/63. Heading A6D. An adjustable skate comprises separate toe and heel sections D and E, each moulded from synthetic resin and each comprising a respective roller mount 33 and a respective extension 20 or 21, the two extensions being telescopically engageable and provided with means for locking them in the desired position of adjustment. As shown in Figs. 1 and 6, the extension 20 is hollow and receives the I-sectioned extension 21 of the heel section, the latter extension having an enlarged portion containing a cavity housing a spring-controlled locking bolt 71 which cooperates with a notched slot 36 in the base of extension 20. The toe section comprises a platform 62 which is slidable relative to the extension 20 but spring-urged towards the heel section, thereby ensuring a secure attachment of the skate to the wearer's foot. As shown in Fig. 3a, the inner extension 21 may be of rectangular section and provided with a U-shaped groove 72a housing a U-shaped locking bolt 71a which comprises a spigot 73 co-operating with the notched slot in the outer extension.
